Descripción del Tour:
The tour begins in San Telmo, one of the city's most historic neighborhoods, celebrated for its well-preserved colonial architecture.
Next, we'll visit Plaza Dorrego, renowned for its excellent views of Buenos Aires. The square is surrounded by cafes, bars, and pubs, all with outdoor seating, and is home to antique and craft shops. It hosts live music and street dance performances, including tango exhibitions. On Sundays, it transforms into the "Feria of San Telmo", where the streets fill with antique stalls.
Our journey continues to Parque Lezama, known for its winding paths, faux cement logs, vantage points that once overlooked the river, stairways, and semi-underground areas.
One of the key attractions of Parque Lezama is the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, which showcases the early architectural style of Buenos Aires.
We will then proceed to the neighborhood of La Boca, famous for its vividly painted buildings and rich cosmopolitan history. The main street, Caminito, offers vibrant cultural experiences, with local artists displaying their work along the pedestrian walkway.
Garibaldi Road crosses a street intersected by a train track. For three blocks, you'll observe authentic neighborhood structures with metal houses painted in various colors, and the Boca Juniors Stadium is also visible to the group.
Continuing the tour, we will head to the Barrio de Avellaneda and cross the city's oldest and most iconic ferry bridge. Opened in 1914, this transporter bridge is under renovation to resume operations. It was designed to transport pedestrians, cars, vehicles, and trams, and is one of the last eight transporter bridges remaining worldwide.
The tour will proceed to the city's newest neighborhood, Puerto Madero, a hotspot for both locals and tourists. Its former docks have been transformed into top-tier restaurants, lofts, and offices, offering stunning views of the city and the Rio de La Plata. From here, we will visit the Ecological Reserve, an area nestled between the city and the Rio de la Plata, dedicated to preserving the natural environment and the native flora of the pampas.
A highlight of the tour is the visit to the Buenos Aires Ecological Reserve, located on the eastern side of the Puerto Madero neighborhood. This expansive green space within Buenos Aires is perfect for leisurely walks along the Rio de la Plata coastline.
Lastly, we will explore Plaza de Mayo, a site of major political events in Argentina since Buenos Aires' founding. The square is home to the Government House (Casa Rosada), the Cabildo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and other significant public buildings.
The tour concludes at the original meeting point.
